Big Hotel Cebu Review
[Not a valid template]
Big Hotel in Mandaue Cebu is a fairly new hotel. Rated as a 3 star property with 148 rooms. The hotel advertises itself as a budget boutique hotel (on its website anyhow). As you walk into the lobby, you do get that hip vibe feel about the place. It’s located right next door to Times Square, a popular plaza with a number of restaurants, bars, nightclub and some cafes. Right across the road is Parkmall – a mid-sized shopping mall. It’s fairly close to the northern bus terminal, if you are wanting to catch buses up to Bantayan Island or Malapascua. For those wishing to catch ferries to Bohol or the Camotes it’s also quite close the pier. Cebu’s airport is around 30 minute’s taxi ride away.
Being quite new, the rooms are in good condition. Modern, clean although on the smallish side (see video). They start from the standard room. Which come either in 1 double sized bed or 2 twin sized beds. They also have deluxe, family and executive rooms. The executive having a small balcony. I’ve shown the standard and executive in the video so you can get a better idea.
Big Hotel Cebu has its own restaurant on the ground level. I only really tried the breakfast (which was included in the room rate). I did it through Agoda, but I think most booking sites are fairly much similar, so have a look at your favourite site or book directly with the hotel itself. The breakfast was a buffet and was fairly average. With it being so near to Times Square and Parkmall there are plenty of dining options just walking distance from the hotel. They also have a small café on the opposite side of the lobby. So if you after some desserts or coffees it’s not bad of a place.
My thoughts on Big Hotel Cebu.
I found this hotel a fairly reasonable place to stay. Being new, everything still seems to be fresh about the place. As I mentioned before, it does have that vibe about the place with the arty décor without that huge price tag. From when I stayed rates were starting from around $55. Rooms were decent enough, although a touch on the small size. Plenty of dining options nearby and generally close to many things. For hotels in Cebu, I’d rate as above average. Definitely worth considering in the mid ranged hotel price range. Nothing to blow you away, but a nice enough hotel to stay at.
