Video Review of Anika Island Resort one of the top resorts in Bantayan.

Anika Island Resort in Bantayan is one of the islands most popular resorts.  It is rated as a 3 star resort with 19 rooms. Each room having cable TV, mini bar and private verandas. The rooms have actually been converted from recycled cargo containers, painted, added a roof and veranda. The cheapest rooms were the Courtyard Rooms (at the time I stayed) were P1,500.00 per night (good for 2 people). While the best rooms are the Ocean View Rooms. At the time I stayed these were P3,500.00 a night. Obviously these rooms have the best views at the resort. They have a nice veranda to sit and relax with the ocean breezes. The view is towards the sunrise. The rooms while not huge, are modern and clean. Beds where nice and comfortable. The bathroom too was in a good state and had hot and cold water showers.

The first time I visited here a few years ago (before Typhoon Yolanda) Anika Island Resort use to have its own beach cafe, where you could sit back and have a coffee. This is no longer there. They still have their restaurant at the front of the resort which has a better menu than before. There is a bit more on offer now and the food is decent enough. The resort is also in the process of building a new swimming pool. It should be ready by early 2017. Do check out their Facebook page for latest updates.

The photos I took were taken in April, when the weather is generally good. On this side of Bantayan Island you get a little bit of the winds blowing during this time of year. So you do get a bit of seaweed blown up on the shore but nothing drastic. It is a nice beach.

Overall I’ve enjoyed my stays here. It was nice to be recognised by by a staff member from my last visit. If you’re looking for a nice beach resort in Bantayan, Anika is worth taking a look at. I booked my stay using Agoda, but do your homework, room rates can vary on different booking sites. Or check directly with the resort itself.

Things to do in Bantayan Island.

Visit the beautiful Virgin Island, Bantayan.

I find renting a motorbike and exploring the island a great way to experience Bantayan. The roads aren’t too busy and the island isn’t terribly huge. It’s nice to ride to Bantayan Town proper or head to Kota Park were you can get some magnificent sunsets. It’s also possible to ride to Paradise Beach, although it is a bit difficult to find due to lack of signage. Virgin Island makes for a great day trip as well. Please visit my guide to Bantayan Island for more things to see and do on the island as well as how to get to Anika Island Resort.
